golden sunlight

flowers turn to stars
i stand mesmerized, addicted to sunlight
i can feel my very molecules heating up

when they blasted me to oblivion
with fists and arms
made me cry and beg in front of them
laughed in my face
and dragged me out by my hair
i thought i was ruined forever

makes me wonder

how long i can stay
push this body past disease and injury
hold on to that glimmer of
left over beauty
from before i was so tough

summer threatens to explode on all of us
prepared or not
and while you're out living the best
days of your life
i'll be lying in the sun
planning my ressurection
